Tap on a specific series of meridian points to resolve uncomfortable emotion.
Approach: A person has an energy body. Energy flows through meridian pathways in the energy body. The pathways can have Zzt blockages. When energy hits a blockage in one of the pathways, an uncomfortable emotion happens. Tapping on the body at points along the meridian pathways can clear out the blockages, and thus resolve the uncomfortable emotion.

Find the physical feeling in your body. Soften and flow the energy with intention.
Approach: Every person has a unique energy body. The energy body itself changes shape and configuration over time. Energy is exchanged with and received from everything. The human energy system is normally able to receive, process and release virtually any sort of energy very quickly and with no trouble. People develop adverisities to particular sorts of energies that travel particular pathways. Shields are put up in these pathways. Any energy that enters these particular pathways becomes stuck / pools up / hardens. This is the cause of uncomfortable emotion. Emotion is not the problem, but merely an indicator of the blocked energy. A person can soften and flow their own energy with intention. Find the physical sensation in your body, and soften and flow to let it go.

A set of approaches to releasing resistance to emotion, and thus the emotion itself.
Approach: You are unlimited. Resistance to emotion causes the emotion to stick around, which covers over your experience of your true unlimited nature. Happiness is feeling love, within yourself. Love is always present. When an uncomfortable emotion is present, the love within you is covered over. There are several approaches here that are described in the Sedona Method book. One is a specific series of questions that aim to inch you towards an easy release of the uncomfortable emotion. Another is to "enter into" the sensation of the emotion as deeply as you can, moving towards the center of it; then go even more deeply into it, towards the center again; and so on, until the sensation just "pops" and fades away. The book describes the approaches in detail. The creator of the technique is Lester Levenson. His story is available for free.

Use eye movements to get into contact with your subconscious, and clear out emotion files.
Approach: Unprocessed emotion sticks around when a person avoids experiencing the emotion. Similar emotions get stored together, in a kind of "emotion file". When something in the present triggers an emotion, it can sometimes bring up all the unprocessed emotion similar to it in that particular "emotion file". This is what's happening when people react out of proportion or out of context to an experience. The REM (Rapid Eye Movement) stage of sleep involves getting into a state in which emotion can be processed. Using rapid eye movements while awake can get a person into the same state. They are then able to focus on a particular "emotion file" to consciously and deliberately process any unprocessed emotion in it.
